100 years ago after the Great Wet occurred all that was left was a barren wasteland.  Humanity is almost wiped out and survival is a day to day struggle.   Michael is a wanderer walking the land and scavenging off of the past.  After being viciously attacked he stumbles into a tiny town, Providence, and death has followed him there.  Now Michael must lead the townsfolk across the desert to the city of Newbegin.  But the politics and religious fanaticism of Newbegin could prove to be more perilous than anything that the townsfolk faced while crossing the arid land.
