The manga pokes some fun at the classic character types you read about in manga. In this case the ultra-depressed teacher vainly attempts to teach the futility of life only to have the opposite results on his students all of who have very distinctly, disurbing traits. Just the type of story to make you scratch your head and say "WEIRD!"
